Blair Taylor will speak on the discursive convergence of left politics, art and capitalism undergone in recent years, examining the specific examples of neoanarchism and neoliberalism. Challenging common assumptionabout the relationship between power and critique, the lecture will probe the disturbing possibility that even the most supposedly radical currents in contemporary left movements reinforce rather than challenge the current liberal-democratic capitalist order.
Blair Taylor is director of programming at the Institute for Social Ecology.
He is currently completing a PhD in politics at the New School for Social Research.
