You know maybe it’s like this TV show where the doctor leaves the hospital because she is moving to L.A. And they spin-off the show based around her.
I think it is this possibility of a form, that will exist in one space or another that interests me. And where some sort of trust is built up in this chain of spatial continuity. This is like bundling different notions on how a sculpture can be made without the footnotes of conceptuality. I am making decisions to establish a precise object, and I think this is what keys it to reality.
Both shows follow the character through flash backs and integrate her development in cross-overs. I really like this kind of continuity, although it can be a bit confusing.
Did I ever tell you I am coming from that tradition of conceptual doctrine mixed up with a historical reference (reality). I actually have always tried to steer my practice to a more subtle stage of independence from text. And by this I mean text as descriptive bureaucracy. Kind of „bringing the focus“ to the intrinsic language of the thing. That is always very impressive to me.
Just because you play fragility doesn’t mean you are weak, right?
No, but sometimes this can be quite a helpful tool to make things look more urgent. And you feel it closer to your own reality. It’s like drama – it’s nowhere close to your daily life but it works like a catalytic converter, just the other way round.
So are you saying this will make me liking my own precariousness more likely? Like, I am overlooking my own real problems for 44 minutes plus commercials?
And yes, this here is definitely outside this zone of certainty – rather very quiet, detailed, and like layered reservoirs of meaning. And they will have their effect. Specifically, and the word says it all actually – specific. So when it all comes together, merges, and all thoughts are bound to the right point. Then this space, if you think of it like a field, has an order spanned by multiple points. This is where we go.
